intelliMAG system

If the position of a solenoid armature is critical to the function of an application, position sensors or, at the least, proximity switches are generally required for monitoring armature movement. As components however, position sensors or proximity switches are expensive and susceptible to wear and tear, nor can they be used in adverse ambient conditions. IntelliMAG sets new standards in this field.

intelliMAG uses physical effects in the electrical controlling of the solenoid to acquire precise information about the armature position without the need for expensive measuring systems or proximity switches.

Positions can be determined to an accuracy of approx. 1 % of the total solenoid stroke. The intelliMAG system features a commercially available, non-modified solenoid and control electronics. The electronics can be mounted directly on the solenoid to linked to it by a longer cable.
