RELIABLY MONITORING OF FILL LEVELS WITH CAPACITIVE SENSORS AND TOF SENSOR TECHNOLOGY

EBE Level Sensors ready for immediate use
EBE offers the LCPB series in the area of planar, capacitive sensors that can be used off-the-shelf immediately. The EBE level sensors are ideally suited for aqueous liquids or liquids with high permittivity. Up to a distance of 3 mm from the container, the sensor can measure the level continuously and reliably without coming into contact with the medium. This eliminates the need for costly setups on the tank containers, including control, as well as contamination of the medium by the sensor. Another major advantage of the LCPB-sensor is its easy implementation in other applications, since everything is on a circuit board that can be attached directly to the packing. Provided with a common connector, the sensor delivers data over the entire measuring range of the electrodes by means of I2C, UART or PWM.
The EBE Standard Sensor is ideally suited for:

To test the responsiveness of the sensor on your own application, EBE offers sensor kits containing both standard level sensors. The sensors with dimensions of 25mm (38x25mm) and 96mm (33x100mm) are supplied with a JST connector including interface box (5 V). The data is transmitted via PWM, UART or I2C interface. ToF Sensor Technology for granulates and bulk materials
In case of level measurement for granulates, bulk materials or other media such as brines or ice cubes, 2D or 3D ToF sensors can be applied. ToF sensors use light sources with wavelengths outside the visible range, thus practically excluding disturbances by artificial light or sunlight completely. Depending on the requirement, it is possible to select from a variety of suitable sensor categories. These differ in terms of illumination angle, maximum measuring distance and performance up to CCD arrays.
Development of Level Sensors for Individual Customer Projects
Sensor development is carried out according to the specific requirements and characteristics of the customer application, whereby the basic algorithms developed for this purpose have already proven themselves over many years. The capaTEC® and corTEC® technologies developed by EBE form the starting point for product development. EBE sensors + motion develops each level sensor specifically for level measurement under difficult conditions due to parasitic effects, the measurement of viscous liquids and for the detection of bulk solids.
The geometry of the sensors can be precisely adapted to the available installation space. Assembly and planning for large-scale production are carried out in close coordination with the customer's design department. Since the requirements vary in each project, the sensor is customized for optimum performance. When developing an individual level sensor, the design of the electrodes is a decisive factor. If the electrodes of the level sensor also permeate the materials of the tank, they become part of the sensor system. The sensor's interfaces, connectors and the form of the signal output are also realized by EBE sensors + motion exactly according to customer requirements. In this way, the level sensors can be quickly and easily integrated into existing environments without redesigning the device.
